Infant Program
One of the most important characteristics of our infant program is the trust we earn while caring and connecting with the families in our care. The program begins with the taking of a thorough history of your child’s needs and preferences. When parents arrive each day, they are welcomed and encouraged to discuss their child’s previous night and morning, so that we are best prepared to meet each baby’s specific needs. We will work together to establish a personalized development plan that is continually updated to meet your child’s needs.
Metrokids Preschool has a superior infant program and we lead the way in early infant education. We utilize the latest research in infant language acquisition, emotional security, cognitive development, executive functioning, and positive bonding. Our trained staff is ready to share their knowledge and use it to benefit each child’s growth and development. When speaking with your child, our staff uses language modeling and parallel talk to help with language development. We provide dual language exposure and fine and gross motor activities in a theme-based environment. Our infant program also incorporates baby yoga and music.
Each infant has a personal crib, providing a sense of familiarity and comfort. Infants are encouraged to reach, grasp, kick, hold, pull, crawl, and stand. We also provide many cognitive experiences for your infant. Caregivers model social language skills by connecting new words with their daily experiences. Teachers use language such as “please” and “thank you”, so that infants become familiar with polite conversation. Teachers expand on each child’s experience at school through the use of rich vocabulary, responsive connections, and consistent care.
Our infant classrooms provide personal, warm, and loving care in a colorful, stimulating, clean, and healthy environment. The low child-to-teacher ratio in these classes allows for plenty of one-on-one interaction. . We have an open door policy at this age and welcome breastfeeding moms and non-breastfeeding parents alike.
